Kathie Godfrey, MA ( Portland State University) German

Kathie Godfrey is in charge of the second-year German program and also instructs foreign language teaching methods and research design. She received her MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from
Portland State University. Her research interests are second language acquisition, teaching/learning culture, and the development of critical thinking. She serves on the departmental committee to assess the majors program. She is a member of the OUS Advisory Board for Germany. She recently served on a project funded by PEW to redesign first-year Spanish at Portland State by incorporating a technological enhancement in the program. Her
extensive language teaching experience has included a variety of second and foreign language settings.
