Martha Hickey, Ph.D. (Harvard University) Russian Language & Literature

Dr. Martha Hickey received her Ph.D. in Slavic languages and literatures from Harvard
University. She has published on topics related to 20th-century Russian literature, and is preparing a monograph on the emerging voices and themes of post-revolutionary Russia focusing on the writers, artists and literary theorists who gathered at the House of Arts in St. Petersburg (Petrograd) from 1919 to 1922. She is secretary to the Oregon Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages and a member of the Board of the
Portland-Khabarovsk Sister-City Association. She teaches language and literature courses in Russian and courses in English on 20th-century Russian narrative, film and popular culture.
