David Thompson, M.Litt. (University of St. Andrews) Latin

David Thompson is a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto and received his M.Litt. in Medieval Studies from the University of St.Andrews. He specializes in the transmission of Latin texts from antiquity to the Middle Ages, particularly in the renaissance of learning at the court of Charlemagne. He has edited a Latin encyclopedia on astronomy from the court of Charlemagne and also pursues an interest in medieval Latin saints' lives. He teaches courses in Latin at PSU and other courses on ancient
and medieval literature and culture. He was included in Who's Who Among America's Teachers, 2004.
