Angela Zagarella,

Angela Zagarella
has a degree in Foreign Language and Literature from the University of
Catania, Sicily and a certificate in TESOL. She teaches beginning, intermediate
and advanced Italian which she has taught both in Portland and in Italy,
at the University for Foreigners in Siena. She has reviewed articles published
in Ortesol, worked with publishing companies, reviewed textbooks and written
scripts for videos. She has been a language consultant for local theatrical
productions and has taught classes for travelers, musicians and business
people. Her approach to language teaching is interactive and personalized
and her classes are taught primarily with an immersion-style approach.
Her areas of interests are language teaching pedagogy, second language
acquisition and adult education. She is the President of the Oregon chapter
of Sicilia Mondo, which promotes Sicilian culture and tradition all over
the world.
