There are many ways to get to Japan for a study experience through Portland State

Through the Oregon University System

  • Waseda University (Tokyo) - program begins in September, runs the full year
  • Aoyama Gakuin University (Tokyo) - program begins in April, runs the full year

Through Portland State University

  • Waseda-Oregon Summer Program: intensive language study in Tokyo

  • Hokkaido University (Sapporo)
a. Summer Session in Japan
b. HUSTEP: two full scholarships for language and culture study, aimed at non-majors, runs the full year
c. One Ministry of Education full scholarship for a Japanese major at 3rd-year level or above, runs the full year
  • Sophia University (one semester or full year, in Ichigaya)

CIEE Program designed for students with an interest in business or economics
